The Maisuma area in LalChowk area shuts as a mark of protest against the arrest and ‘forced’ return of the JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik and 30 others from Doda who had gone to distribute relief among the Chenab Valley earthquake victims.

Malik informed Kashmir Life over phone, “We were arrested in Doda on Wednesday midnight and were forcefully put in police vehicles and returned back to Kashmir.” He further informed, “The truck drivers were beaten to pulp and the window panes of their trucks were smashed without any reason.”

When Kashmir Life spoke with the Chairman JKLF, the leaders and trucks were in Bijbehara.

Malik along with his 30 supporters were arrested by police in Doda Wednesday evening and were then ‘forced’ to return back.

The members of JKLF had left for Doda and Kishtwar districts Wednesday morning to provide relief to the earthquake victims in the twin districts of Chenab valley. Three trucks carrying blankets, tents, plastic sheets and other important material were also returned by the police.
