Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammad Yasin Malik Thursday visited Sopore where a number of residential houses were gutted down by a fire recently.

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) the spokesman said that after reaching Batpora Sopore, Malik went to see the affected families and expressed his grief over the losses of people due to the recent fire.

“Yasin sahib distributed an amount of rupees 2 Lakh and 10 thousands among the affected families. This amount was collected from some friends for the cause. Yasin sahib also visited Sopore fruit Mandi for the purpose.”

Speaking on the occasion, Yasin Malik said “We are here to express our solidarity with our brothers and sisters who have been hit by a natural catastrophe. This is our moral, religious and human responsibility towards our affected brethren who are suffering in these months of harsh cold”. Malik further stated that these people have lost their shelters and are in a need of our help and support. He also appealed to people to come forward with the helping hand to these people in this hour of need.
