Terming the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) special representative for Kashmir visit to Pakistan and Azad Kashmir as an important step, Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed his wish that the world Muslim body should also support the Kashmiris on economic front, besides the necessary political support to their freedom struggle.

APHC Chairman said that the hurriyat leaders of Azad Kashmir chapter led by convener Yousuf Naseem officially met the OIC special representative along with his delegation and presented a memorandum explaining all the dimensions of Kashmir dispute and increasing human rights violations committed by Indian troops in Kashmir. The hurriyat leaders also thanked OIC for continuous political and diplomatic support for the Kashmir cause.

Hurriyat (M) Chairman also thanked OIC for raising the issue of oppressed Kashmiris on international forums. He said the OIC has always provided platform for the hurriyat leadership to present their point before the world, besides giving the hurriyat as an observers status in OIC and inviting it to attend the conferences around the world is testimony to the positive efforts of OIC regarding the Kashmir struggle.

Mirwaiz has also stressed upon India that OIC Kashmir cell should be allowed to visit Jammu and Kashmir to know the real facts about Kashmir dispute and take stock of ground situation. He said the international body can play an effective role in resolving the hurdles on political and diplomatic level which are coming in way of solving the vexed Kashmir dispute.

He said that Kashmir was an internationally recognized dispute. Mirwaiz said that there was a constructive thinking in the world now to resolve the Kashmir issue, adding, India should shun the policy of stubbornness and solve the Kashmir issue for once and all by engaging with all the stake holders to the dispute.
