SRINAGAR: A 40-year-old man was killed after being struck by the Hemgiri Express near Chainpura in the Chandwan area of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, reports said.
The deceased was identified as Satish Singh, son of Omkar Singh, a resident of Village Chandea in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district.
Reports said the accident occurred while the Hemgiri Express was travelling from Kathua towards Jammu. The man sustained fatal injuries after being hit by the train and died on the spot.
A team of the Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the scene soon after receiving information, took custody of the body and shifted it for medico-legal formalities.
