SRINAGAR: A man died after falling through a gap in the Gangroo-Ramsoo flyover while attempting to cross to the other side amid a heavy traffic jam in the area late Saturday night, officials said.
An official said that the man got down from his vehicle and attempted to cross to the other side of the Gangroo-Ramsoo flyover when he fell through a gap in the middle of the structure and died on the spot.
He said a heavy traffic jam had developed in the Gangroo and Hingni areas following a truck breakdown. The deceased was shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities, where he was later identified as Hatish Sharma, a resident of Udhampur.
Meanwhile, a probe has been initiated and an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death. (KNO)
