Man Found Dead, 3 Injured in Landslides

One person was found dead while three persons were injured in landslides, a police statement said Wednesday evening.

During intervening night of 6/7-04-2015, Baramulla police recovered the body of 32 years Pradeep Kumar son of Madaw Lal resident of Manthala Baderwah in the residential house of Balwant Singh at Sherwani Colony, Khawaja Bagh Baramulla in suspicious circumstances.

Three persons were injured in a landslide in Keran area of Kupwara district, the statement said.

Three persons Nazakat Khan, Bilal Joo and Ashraf Hajam residents of Mundian got injured when they were hit by a landslide near Mundian Det bridge, Keran. All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Police has taken necessary measures to prevent such incidents.

Meanwhile, police arrested a car lifter and recovered a stolen car from his possession.

A case FIR No.38/15 under section 379 RPC was registered in police station MR Gunj in respect to theft of a white colour Maruti 800 car bearing registration number JK01D/6540.

During the investigation of the case, police got a lead in this regard and succeeded in arresting a car lifter Adil Ahmad Ahanger son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Nundreshi colony, Bemina. On his questioning police recovered the stolen car at his instance and solved the car theft case, the statement said.

The statement further added that a motorcyclist was injured when his motorcycle was hit by a vehicle in Srinagar.

A Swaraj Mazda vehicle bearing registration number JK01D/7866 hit a motorcycle bearing registration number JK01N/0370 at Alamgari Bazar, Srinagar, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist Sajad Hussain Mir resident of Baghwanpora Lal Bazaar. The injured was shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for treatment, the statement informed.
