Man Found Dead In Budgam, Another Dies In Road Accident

SRINAGAR

A male body was recovered from the Chill forest area in District Budgam, police said on Tuesday evening while another one died in a road accident.

Police recovered a body later identified of Ali Mohammad Chopan, son of Wahab Chopan from the forest area of Chill, Khan Sahib in District Budgam.

Police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC to ascertain his cause of death.

The police statement said that a man died while three others were injured in different road accidents in the valley.

A Santro car bearing registration number JK09-5982 hit a Scooty at Lalad Sopore, resulting in critical injuries to Scooty rider identified as Shaheen Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid, resident Delina Baramulla.

The injured was shifted to sub-district hospital Sopore where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, a Swift car bearing registration number JK09A-5425 hit and injured an eight years old girl identified as Rutba Akhter, daughter of Javaid Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Tikker Kupwara.

The injured girl was shifted to SMHS hospital Srinagar for treatment.

In another accident, a vehicle bearing registration number JK18A-0065 turned turtle near Titanic view, Jawahar Tunnel, resulting in injuries to two persons identified as Sabzar Ahmad Mir, son of Mohammad Shaban Mir and Sartaj Ahmad Mir, son of Ali Mohammad Mir, both residents of Chowgam.

Woman dies, 08 structures damaged in fire

A woman died while seven structures including a residential house were damaged in two separate fire incidents in Sopore and Islamabad.

Fire broke out in a residential house belonging to Ghulam Mohammad Mom, son of Samad Mom, resident of Hajam Mohalla, Sopore resulting in partial damage to the house.

In the incident, a mentally challenged lady identified as Khalida Bano daughter of Ghulam Mohammad Mom last her life.

In Islamabad, fire broke out at Sader Bazar, Bijbehara Islamabad in which seven shops were partially damaged.

Fire was brought under control by fire tenders with the assistance of police and locals.
