JAMMU: A resident from across the Line of Control (LoC) who had inadvertently crossed into this side was handed over to the Pakistan Army in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, officials said.
The 32-year-old man, Mohammad Yasir Faiz, a resident of Tetrinote village in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), was reportedly mentally unstable. He was taken into custody from the Salotri border village of Poonch on January 25.
Officials said the Indian Army established contact with its Pakistani counterparts, and Faiz was handed over at the Chakan Da Bagh border crossing after completing all formalities on Friday.
