SRINAGAR: Police claimed to have arrested a man along with 380 fake gold biscuits in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.

The accused has been identified as Javid Ahmad Dar, a resident of Khanpora Baramulla, who was apprehended during a checking at Khanpora Bridge.

The accused was heading from Baramulla market towards Khanpora when he noticed the police checking party. Upon seeing them, he tried to flee but was tactfully apprehended by the police. During the search, 380 fake gold biscuits weighing 380 grams were recovered from him, leading to his immediate custody.

Police added that a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at the Baramulla Police Station. The investigations have been initiated into the matter.
