SRINAGAR: A man was injured after being attacked by a bear in the Zilsidara area of Brenwar in Chadoora area of central kashmir’s Budgam district, on Saturday evening, triggering concern among local residents over increasing movement of wild animals.
According to local residents, the man was returning home after offering the Isha prayer when the bear attacked him. People nearby rushed to the spot and rescued him from the animal.
The victim sustained injuries in the attack. However, his condition was not immediately known.
The incident has sparked fear among residents, who urged the Forest Department and the Department of Wildlife Protection to intensify monitoring of wild animal movement in the area and take immediate steps to prevent such incidents.
Residents called for appropriate measures to ensure the safety of people living in vulnerable areas prone to wildlife movement.
