SRINAGAR: A 40-year-old man was injured after being attacked by a bear in Zamboor Pattan area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.
Reports said that a man was working in his agriculture field near his house when a bear attacked him.
The injured has been identified as Muneer Ahmed Bhatti, son of Jalal Din Bhatti, 40, resident of Zamboor Pattan.
He sustained injuries in the attack and was initially shifted to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Boniyar for treatment and later referred to GMC Baramulla for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the incident has caused fear among locals, particularly those living near forest areas.
Residents have been advised to remain cautious and avoid venturing into areas where wild animals have been sighted and to immediately inform authorities about any sighting.(GNS)
