As the reports, the man responsible for the beheading of an Indian army man in 2013—the incident stoking a new tension in Indo-Pak ties—was killed by army in Jammu province’s Rajouri district this week.

“Anwar Faiz, a divisional commander of the terror outfit Lashkar e Taiba, was killed on Monday, July 13, at Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir when he was trying to sneak into India along with a group of terrorists,” the reports said.

Faiz was reportedly involved in the killing of two Indian army men, including beheading of Lance Naik Hemraj Singh on January 8, 2013, in JK’s Mendhar sector.

The incident triggered a series of ceasefire violations, creating tension in Indo-Pak relations.
