Srinagar

Authorities on Monday decided to suspend train services from Banihal to Baramulla and vice versa in Kashmir in wake of the strike called by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on the 35th anniversary of Mohammad Maqbool Bhat.

A railway official said that the decision to suspend train service has been taken as a “precautionary measure” in wake of apprehension of law and order problems in the Valley.

Pertinently, the JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for complete shutdown and protests to observe the anniversary and to reiterate the demand for the return of mortal remains of Maqbool Bhat.
