Following a fresh landslide at several places along the Srinagar-Jammu highway, the strategic thoroughfare, the only surface link connecting Kashmir Valley with rest of the world, remained closed for the sixth consecutive day on Monday.

An official said that traffic movement disrupted continuously for the 6th day due to frequently shooting stones/landslides at Marog, and Ramban- Banihal stretch. He said the men and machinery are on the job to clear the road.

“The decision regarding the vehicular movement on the highway shall be taken soon after the road is cleared,” he said.

Pertinently, the Passengers stranded on the highway have been stuck on the road for the last five days without any accommodation or help from the government and the families including women and children have been suffering badly.
