A local court on Monday granted bail to incarcerated Muslim League Jammu Kashmir Chairman Masrat Alam Bhat but according to League, “Police openly violated the court orders by re-arresting Alam forthwith”.

According to GNS,  a local court at Baramulla on Monday sanctioned bail to Masrat Alam in a case FIR No. 99-13ULA/2008 (Unlawful Activities Act) by ordering the concerning authorities to release him.

“We went to Sub District jail Baramulla with court orders for Alam’s release but they instead of following court orders shifted him to Police Station, Bandipora,” Muslim League General Secretary Abdul Ahad Parra told GNS.

“Recently the Supreme Court also issued directions to State Government to quash the PSA on Alam but they are fabricating him in different cases just to keep him behind bars,” Parra added.

Terming the re-arrest of Masrat as worst kind of human rights violation Parra said Jammu and Kashmir has turned out to be a Police State. “Here, judiciary has no value, Police themselves are judges,” he said, adding that people of J&K have lost faith in judiciary.
