Massive search operation remained on and some 700 army men and police personnel are busy combing a mountainous area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district to track down five or six militants who according to army have sneaked this side of the Line of Control (LoC) some days back.
The massive operation began couple of days earlier after the militants were spotted close to the LoC that divides the state between the two countries.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police has joined the military in the search operation in Shamswari forests.
“The forces are slowly closing in on the cordoned off forest area,” defense sources said.
