SRINAGAR: Ghulam Mohiuddin Gilkar, former Joint Director of Information, Jammu and Kashmir (now DIPR JK), is no more. He was unwell for a long time and completely bedridden. He was 90 plus.

After his retirement from the services of the Jammu and Kashmir government, Gilkar used to be a journalist. For many years, he was reporting for the Riyadh-based Saudi Gazette.

Sources said Gilkar, who was suffering from multiple health issues, breathed his last at Wanbal, were the family is living now. He was laid to rest at their ancestral graveyard at Bal Garden.

Gilkar is survived by three sons, Dr Prof Abdul Raouf (ENT), Engineer Rayees A GIlkar, photographer Mukhtar Ahmad and daughter, Dr Mrs Hakim Shafat.
