In a significant development the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India conveyed its approval vide their No: V – 12017/2/2011 – DE Dated: 30th March’ 2013 to Principal/Dean, Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Srinagar to admit next batch of MDS students in the Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics Oral Medicine & Radiology Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge with 02 seats in each specialty for the session 2013-14.
Principal Dental college Dr Riyaz Farooq told KNS “The development has given a sigh of relief to the aspiring Doctors of the State. The Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Srinagar being the only Dental Institution of the State imparting Postgraduate studies”.
He added, “The Institution is already running recognized MDS course in the Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Periodontics. The intake capacity of (50) Fifty admissions annually in BDS has also been recognized by Govt. of India/Dental Council of India. Moreover, the first batch of Dental Hygienist have passed out from this Institution during this year”.
