Media consultant to CM Mehbooba Mufti, Suhail Bukhari has resigned from the post, sources said.
Bukhari had submitted his resignation 10 days ago. However, his resignation was formally accepted yesterday (Thursday) only.
The job of media consultant was to promote government policies and monitor social, electronic and print media. The idea was to manage positive perceptions of the government among the people.
Local reports said that Bukhari was told to go for not performing well.
However, sources told Kashmir Life that Bukhari resigned due to personal reasons, voluntarily.
Sources said that Bukhari is planning to joint politics. “Bukhari is planning to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), formally,” they said.
However, another source close to Bukhari contested the claims and said that the news of Bukhari joining politics in baseless. “He is in fact joining back some media house,” the source added.
Kashmir Life could not contact Suhail Bukhari for his comments.
