PDP’s firebrand leader and Srinagar MP Tariq Hameed Karra on Tuesday said Mehbooba hasn’t only been authorized by her party to join hands with BJP but she can break the coalition and go with the secular forces too.

Talking to a local news gathering agency, KNS, over phone from New Delhi, Karra said that the PDP chief has chaired three back to back meeting with party functionaries, leaders and legislators. “In all the three meetings, she has been given full authority to take any decision on party’s behalf and PDP would back that decision.”

However, MP Karra, who at several occasions has flayed the PDP-BJP bonhomie in the past, said party’s authorization to Mehbooba shouldn’t be considered as party’s consent of going with the BJP only. “We have authorized her to even form the new government with the secular forces or break the coalition,” he said, adding that a single side of the picture shouldn’t be presented before the masses.

Karra divulged further that in his one-to-one meet with the PDP president, he, however, has given her two options only. “I didn’t support continuing party’s alliance with the BJP. I told her that she can either go with the secular forces or breakaway the coalition,” revealed Karra.

Clarifying that forming the coalition with the secular forces is very much possible in the state and that the number game isn’t at all involved in the state. “Those who are saying that coalition with the Congress isn’t possible lack the political will to do it. Let me tell you that these are the technical issues. If we have a political will, we can very much go with the secular forces and form secular government,” Karra added.
