Expressing deep grief at the death of a young scholar Mudasir Ahmad in Hyderabad ,the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for a thorough and transparent investigation into his death.
In a statement issued today, the PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti said the death of Mudasir was a terrible blow to his family and it was shocking that a bright boy who was pursuing higher studies had lost his life in circumstances which called for thorough investigation.
She conveyed her condolences to the family and said she realized that no words could provide comfort to them in this hour of tragedy. She prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and wished that the family is able to overcome this irreparable loss.
Mehbooba also expressed concern at the use of disproportionate force against the mourners at different places in Pulwama district. She said the administration must understand the emotional nature of the occasion and try to accommodate the sentiments of people.
“Government must provide all facilities to the family for bringing back the body of Mudasir and ensure that a thorough investigation is conducted to bring forth all the facts about his mysterious death,” said Mehbooba.
Others who expressed their deep grief on this incident include party general secretary Mohammed Dilawar Mir, MLA Mohd Khalil Bandh, MLA Syed Bashir, MLA Zahoor Ahmad , MLA Ab Razaq Zawoora and others.
