Mehbooba, Drabu condoles Firaq’s demise

Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has condoled the demise of renowned poet, writer and author of many books, Prof. Ghulam Nabi Firaq who passed away Saturday after prolonged illness.

In her message of condolence, Mehbooba according to spokesman said Prof. Firaq’s contribution in enriching Kashmir’s modern poetry would be long remembered.

She has prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.

The spokesman further said that Minister for Finance, Labour & Employment and Culture, Dr Haseeb Drabu has also condoled the demise of Prof Ghulam Nabi Firaq who passed away today after prolonged illness.

In his message of condolence, Dr Drabu said Prof Firaq’s contribution in enriching Kashmir’s modern poetry would be remembered long.

He prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.

Meanwhile Director Information, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has condoled the demise of Prof Firaq. In his condolence message, Dr Shahid said Prof Firaq’s contribution in enriching Kashmir’s modern poetry and literature would be remembered long.

He prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
