taslimaWhen CM Ms Mehbooba Mufti faced wrath, back home, on her remark while allegedly relating Islam and Muslims with the recent militant attack at Pampore, she has got support from an unexpected quarter, author Tasleema Nasreen.

The controversial Bangla writer Tasleema tweeted this morning, “Congrats Madam Mehbooba Mufti for telling the truth.”

“You said, ‘Terror is an offshoot of Islam for which Muslims should be ashamed.’,” wrote Tasleema.

The writer known for her feminist views is living a self-motivated exile life in India since 1994 for “severely criticizing Islam”.

Ms Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday while laying floral wreath on slain 8 CRPF men had said, “those who carried out the attack were ‘bringing a bad name to Kashmir and Islam’.”

Pertinently, opposition led by National Conference strongly reacted to her remark, “This is the same Ms Mehbooba Mufti who used to say that terror has no religion. Now suddenly she sees terror as an offshoot of Islam for which Muslims should be ashamed.”
