On the 40th day of former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s demise, as customary, Mehbooba Mufti and senior PDP politicians on Monday visited Mufti’s grave and paid their tributes to him.
Accompanied by her brother and sister, Mehbooba visited early in the morning and paid tributes to her father.
Former CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed breathed his last on January 07 in AIIMS at New Delhi around 7:30 AM.
Dara Shikov Garden, where the grave of late Mufti is lying, was thronged by hundreds of party workers who paid their homage to Sayeed.
Qur’an Khwaani and special prayers were also held, in which number of party leaders also participated.
However, there was no word on the long awaited government formation in state, by Mehbooba Mufti and refused to talk with media.
On the side lines of the customary function, former education minister and PDP spokesperson Naeem Akhtar while talking about the government formation said, “it is in the hands of Mehbooba Ji and she will take decision soon.”
With Mufti’s demise 40 days ago, J&K is sans a public government and state is under governor’s rule since January 09.
