According to the forecast, many parts of the Jammu division are likely to witness one or two spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers, with heavy rain and brief intense showers expected at a few places, mainly during the late afternoon, evening and late night to early morning hours.

In the Kashmir division, many districts are also expected to receive light to moderate rain at several places, while brief intense showers are likely at a few locations, particularly during the afternoon and early morning hours.

From July 9 to 12, the weather is expected to remain generally hot and humid, with one or two spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places. Brief spells of heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms are also likely at a few locations.

The MeT Centre has advised that heavy rainfall and intense showers between July 6 and 8 could trigger localised flash floods, landslides and mudslides in vulnerable areas of the Chenab Valley and the Pir Panjal range.

Residents have been urged to stay away from nallahs, streams and areas prone to landslides and mudslides, and to follow official weather advisories.
