Continuing the gripping cold wave, officials said the similar conditions are likely to persist during the next 24 hours.

The officials forecasted light snowfall at isolated places in the higher reaches of the state during the next 48 hours.

On December 2, the officials said Leh, Banihal, and Kupwara recorded the lowest night temperatures.

The lowest minimum temperature recorded on Sunday was at Leh where the night’s temperature dropped to minus 8.6 degrees Celsius.

Kupwara was the coldest at minus 2.4 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperatures in both Srinagar and Gulmarg were minus 2.0. In Pahalgam it was minus 1.8, the officials said.

Kargil recorded minus 7.2 degrees Celsius.
