Metrology department of Kashmir on Monday predicted fresh snowfall on the very first day of the next month.

According to MeT officials the temperature will dip in the coming days and a fresh snowfall is expecting on February 1 and 2.

Meanwhile Srinagar recorded a low of 0.9 degrees Celsius on Sunday night whereas the mercury in Qazigund settled at minus 1.2 degrees Celsius, slightly down from minus 0.9 degrees Celsius on the previous night.

Pertinently Kashmir valley witnessed two major snowfalls of the season so far.

The first snowfall occurred on the last day of the last year while as the second on January 22, 2014.

On both the occasions the valleyites suffered because of the power and water supply was badly affected.
