The Jammu and Kashmir meteorological department has forecasted light snowfall on upper reaches from January 05.

An official of the Met Department said the weather is likely to remain dry till January 04 and there are chances of light rain and snowfall in upper reaches of Kashmir.

The Srinagar city has recorded minus 4.3-degree Celsius temperature,  Qazigund has recorded minus 4.6.

Tourist destination Pahalgam has recorded minus 6.6, the night’s lowest temperatures and Gulmarg has recorded minus 6.0

While Kupwara has recorded minus 3.4 degree Celsius and Kokernah have recorded minus 4.3, respectively.

The Jammu city has recorded 6.0, Katra 6.5, Batote 2.0, Banihal 0.9, Bhaderwah 0.1 and Udhampur was at three degrees Celsius.

Leh was coldest at minus 11.4, and Kargil at minus 9.2 degrees Celsius.
