SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast intermittent spells of rain, thundershowers and gusty winds across Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days, while also cautioning about the possibility of thunderstorms and hailstorms at a few locations.
Officials said weather conditions are expected to remain mostly fine during the day on Wednesday with isolated thundershowers likely in some areas during the late afternoon or evening. Orchard spraying is not recommended.
On June 4, several parts of the Union Territory may experience showers under generally cloudy skies, with agricultural activities such as spraying advised against.
A similar pattern is expected on June 5, with chances of scattered showers in many areas across Jammu Kashmir.
For June 6, weather is likely to remain mostly dry until the afternoon, followed by a possibility of isolated thundershowers in some regions later in the day. Spraying in orchards is not advised.
From June 7 to June 9, conditions are expected to improve with mostly fine weather, although a few areas may still witness thundershowers during the late afternoon or evening. Orchard spraying has been suggested during morning hours.
The advisory clarified that no continuous or prolonged rainfall is expected over the Union Territory during this period.
It further urged people in vulnerable and hilly areas to exercise caution in view of the possibility of thunderstorms, gusty winds and lightning strikes.
