SRINAGAR: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has approved the promotion of five Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including Neha Jain, who is currently serving as Additional Superintendent of Police in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Jain is the only officer from her batch presently posted in the Jammu and Kashmir segment to have been elevated, officials said.
Another officer promoted, Anurag Daru, has earlier served in Jammu and Kashmir, having completed a portion of his professional training in the Union Territory.
The other officers cleared for promotion are Akshat Aayush, Akanksha Milind Tamgadge and Aashish Kumar.
