According to the results announced by the MHRD on Tuesday, the University of Kashmir has secured the 47th position among the universities ranked in the National Institutional Ranking Framework-2018, while Indian Institute of Sciences Bengaluru has topped the list.
According to the results reported in NIRF website, The University has also bagged an overall ranking of 71 among more than 4000 institutions (including universities, IITs etc).
The results of the ranking were released by the MHRD minister Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi on Tuesday.
A report published by a national media outlet said that around 4500 institutes had submitted their details for ranking by NIRF this year. At the event unveiling the rankings for 2018, Javadekar also said that it would be mandatory for public institutes to participate in the ranking framework from next year.
