Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a militant in Kishtwar district.
A police spokesperson in a statement said, Kishtwar police arrested a wanted militant Reyaz Ahmed of Sounder Dachhan, wanted in case FIR No. 182/2018 U/S 120-B/121/121-A/RPC 7/27 I.A Act, 4/5 Exp Act 3/13/U(P)A of police station Kishtwar.
The spokesman said Reyaz was reportedly also involved in the case u/s 7/25 Arms Act, 3/5 EXP Act of P/S Parimpora, Srinagar.
“There is the likelihood of one more arrest in this case and subsequent recoveries. The accused person is a hardcore motivator of youth who encourages them for joining militancy and militant activities and a close associate of HM militant Mohd Amin @ Jhangir Reyaz Ahmed,” said the spokesman.
“The police has launched a manhunt to effect certain more arrests shortly,” the spokesman said.
