The Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday arrested a local militant in Nowpora Tujjar area of Sopore.
Reports said that whole village was put on high alert since last evening after the information of few militants in the village.
During search operation jointly launched by 22 RR, SOG Sopore and 179 BN of CRPF Sopore, a local militant identified as Abdul Majeed Mir S/O Bashir Ahmad Mir R/O Nowpora Tujjer Sopore was apprehended.
Reports said that the militant fired three shots from his pistol but he was trapped and arrested.
Police sources confirmed that a militant was arrested in Tujjar. “A pistol was recovered from his possession.”
