Militant Associate Arrested: Police

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday claimed to have arrested a militant associate in Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

A police spokesman in a statement said that in a joint action by a team of Police Station Lalpora along with 28 RR, one OGW from Warnow area of Lolab Kupwara has been arrested and incriminating material seized.

He said that the OGW has been identified as Muzafar Ahmad Khan, son of  Mohd Kala Khan, a resident of Rang Warnow Lolab.

He added that during a preliminary investigation, he been found to be radicalized through various social media handles and motivated to join ranks.

“Some incriminating material of involvement in militancy-related activities has also been seized from the arrested person,” said the spokesman.

He added that further investigation in the case has been taken up and more arrests in this network cannot be ruled out.

“Timely action by joint forces has prevented the recruitment of the arrested OGW into terror ranks. Kupwara police requests parents to keep a close watch over their children to not fall into the trap of the adversary who have spoiled the youth of Kashmir for its nefarious designs,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
