A militant was found dead under mysterious circumstances in an orchard and another was arrested in an injured condition on Thursday in Sirhama village of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Sources said that a militant identified as Aadil Rehman Dass of Waghama village of Bijbehara tehsil was found dead on a hill in Sirhama and another militant Arif Hussain Bhat of Fatehpora, Bijbehara was arrested in an injured condition.
Reports said that Aadil had joined LeT last year in July, however, he later switched sides to ISJK.
A police spokesman in a statement said that a body of one active militant was recovered from the orchards in Bijbehara area of district Anantnag while another injured militant was arrested by a joint team of Police and security forces from the area.
He said that body of the slain militant has been handed over to the family members after completion of the medico-legal formalities.
“Moreover the injured militant has been taken into custody and admitted to hospital where he is being administered medical treatment,” he said.
“Police has registered a case in this regard. Further investigation in the matter is going on,” said the police spokesman.
