SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said to have busted a militant hideout in the upper reaches of Bhaderwah in Doda district.

A police spokesperson in a statement said that acting on specific information about a militant hideout in the area, a joint search operation was launched by Doda Police and Army (04 RR) and the searching party busted a hideout in the upper reaches (forest area) of Seoz Dhar Bhaderwah.

“The searching party recovered three Chinese Pistols, nine Pistol Magazines and 79 rounds of Pistol from the hideout,” police said.

In this connection, police said that a case under FIR number 123/2023 under relevant sections has been registered in Police Station Bhaderwah and investigation of the case has been started.

Notably, Doda Police in close coordination with Army/CAPF is carrying out joint search operations/area domination/surveillance and close monitoring with special focus in upper reaches/suspicious places so that anti-social/anti-national elements may not succeed in their attempts to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the district—(KNO)
