SRINAGAR: A militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district on Friday.
An Army official said that based on specific intelligence, a joint search along with Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched on April 9 in the Chatroo forest of Kishtwar.
He said that contact was established late evening on the same day and militants were effectively engaged and a firefight ensued. He added that one militant has thus far been neutralised while the operation is ongoing.
Despite hostile terrain and adverse weather, relentless operations by our brave soldiers continue, the Army official said. (JKNS)
