SRINAGAR: One militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter between militants and security forces in the Bichaar area of Chhatroo in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
Official sources said that the exchange of fire erupted during a search operation launched by security forces following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
“They said one militant has been neutralised so far, and additional forces have been rushed to the spot to strengthen the cordon. The operation is still underway,” the sources added.
Earlier, security forces had neutralised two militants in a separate encounter in Udhampur district. (KNC)
