A militant was killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Bidoora area of Achabal in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday, police said.
Taking to social networking site Twitter, Police wrote: “01 #terrorist killed. #Arms & ammunition recovered. Identity & #affiliation being ascertained (sic).”
An army officer was also killed while three other army men were injured in the gunfight.
Meanwhile, Srinagar-based defence spokesperson Col Rajesh Kalia said in a statement: “One terrorist eliminated. Weapons and warlike stores recovered. One officer martyred. Operation in progress.”
