Severe clashes exploded in Pulwama district of South Kashmir on Friday after locals who were protesting against the death of a local militant challenged curfew.

A local of Pulwama informed Kashmir Life that enraged over the killing of LeT militant Omais Ahmad Sheikh, people staged massive anti-India and pro-freedom protests in the district.

“Angry youth pelted stones on police and paramilitary forces who retorted to massive tear gas shelling,” the local said.

Earlier, fearing apparent massive participation of people in the funeral prayers authorities imposed curfew in the town while people chose shut the businesses against the killing.
