A complete shutdown is being observed in Sopore town and its adjacent areas in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, on Friday to mourn the killing of a militant Naseer Ahmad Teli.

Naseer Teli, a resident of Gulabad Arampora was killed in a late-night shootout at Sagipora area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports said that all shops and business establishments remained closed to protest the militant killing. Forces have been deployed at many places of town including at main chowk, tehsil road, Arampora, and Chankhan in order to prevent any untoward incidents, witnesses said.

Earlier authorities have suspended the Internet service and close down all educational institutions in Sopore division on today as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, latest reports suggest that clashes between the government forces and people were also reported from Arampora Sopore.
