A complete shutdown was observed in several areas of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday to mourn the death of suspected militants who died in a brief gunfight on Wednesday.

According to KNS, all the shops and business establishments remained closed in Tral, Awantipora, Kakapora and other adjacent areas while the traffic was thin on roads in the district.

However, no clashes were reported in the village till the report was last filed.

Two unidentified militants died in a gunfight in a plant nursery in Wandakhpora village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday late evening.

The gunfight erupted in the village after forces launch search operation following the inputs received about the presence of militants there.
