Militants attack CRPF vehicle at Pantha Chowk; Casualties feared

Militants on Saturday attacked a CRPF vehicle near Pantha Chowk on the outskirts of Srinagar city, reports said.

Two CRPF personnel have sustained injuries in the attack.  Witnesses said that they heard massive firing in the area.

The firing led to chaos in the otherwise busy chowk. “It caused chaos and people were seen running for safety.” The traffic movement has also stopped in the area while exchange of fire is going on, reports said.

Soon after the incident heavy contingent of army, SOG and CRPF personnel cordoned off the whole area and started search operation.
