Srinagar police on Saturday solved a theft case and recovered stolen cash worth Rs 3,72,000 and 400 Euros from the culprit, a police statement said.
As per the statement a Tourist namely Christain Cornelis Jacopus resident of Netherlands reported in Police Station Nishat with a complaint regarding the theft of money from his guest house in Ishbar.
A case was registered in Police Station and investigation was set into motion. A SIT under the supervision of SDPO Nehru Park Owais Rashid and headed by SHO police station Nishat Aashiq Hussain was formed.
During the course of investigation, it was revealed that one lady (name with held), who was working as house maid had stolen the cash from the tourist, police said adding on his disclosure cash of rupees 3,72,000 and 400 Euros was recovered.
A case FIR number 26/17 under section 381 was registered against her and investigation was taken up, police said.
