Militants in North Kashmir’s Sopore area Thursday gave slip to the security forces and fled the area unhurt.
According to the reports received by KNS, security forces received a tip off about the presence of militants in Gund Khirhama sopore. A joint operation of police and RR was launched and the whole area was cordoned at large. A senior police official told KNS correspondent that after a tip off about the presence of militants was received by police. He stated further that some 3 militants are believed to be present in the house and that they were active in the area from the last several days. He added that police is vacating the area so that collateral damage during the encounter could be avoided.
Reports informed that after three gun shots were heard in the area, the militants were asked to surrender. The gunmen have reportedly given slip to the security forces and have fled from the spot unhurt. Police had launched a massive manhunt to nab the militants.
