Thousands of people on Tuesday participated in the funeral prayers of two slain Lashkar-e-Toiba militants in Handwara and Sopore areas of north Kashmir on Tuesday.
Reports said that thousands of people in both the areas of north Kashmir assembled for the funeral prayers of Liyaqat Ahmed and Furqan Ahmed at their respective ancestral graveyards in Sopore and Handwara.
Furqan Ahmed and Liyaqat Ahmed were killed during a gunfight with government forces in Guloora village of Handwara late last night.
Earlier, clashes were reported from both the areas after the news of their death spread in their respective villages.
