Militants killed in Sopore gunfight identified



The two militants killed in a gunfight Gund Brath village of north Kashmir’s of Sopore town in Baramulla district on Thursday have been identified.

An official identified the slain as Owais Bhat a resident of Gund Brath and Tahir Ahmad Dar a resident of Warpora village of Sopore. Both were associated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit.

The slain were killed in an overnight gunfight that broke out last night following a search operation launched by the forces.

The official said as the forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight.
