Suspected militants shot and killed a Territorial Army man in Kulgam district while he was on way to his home, police sources said.
Police spokesman also confirmed the killing of the Territorial Army man in Larm Ganjipora area of district Kulgam.
Sources said that suspected militants fired upon Gowhar Ahmad Matto son of Bashir Ahmad Matto near Larm Ganjipora when he was on way to his home. “He was shot at his head,” sources said.
They added that Gowhar, a resident of Ganjipora was initially an Ikhwani (government sponsored gunman) but later he had joined the Territorial Army.
Meanwhile, a large contingent of police, CRPF and army has reached and cordoned off the area to nab the militants. The search operation was going on when the reports last came in.
