Minimum Temperatures Rise in Parts of Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: The regions of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh experienced freezing conditions today, with several areas recording sub-zero temperatures. In the Kashmir region, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of -1.0°C, while Qazigund and Pahalgam registered -2.8°C and -3.0°C, respectively.

The coldest locations were Gulmarg and Larnoo, both experiencing a low of -5.4°C. Other areas, including Kupwara at -2.6°C, Kokernag at -3.4°C, and Shopian at -3.9°C, also faced freezing temperatures. Baramulla recorded -0.5°C, Budgam -1.5°C, and Ganderbal -1.3°C. Pulwama and Kulgam registered -1.7°C and -2.9°C, respectively, while Khudwani dipped to -2.2°C.

In the Jammu region, temperatures were relatively milder. Jammu city recorded 8.1°C, while Katra saw the highest minimum temperature in the region at 9.4°C. Banihal recorded 1.9°C, and Batote registered 5.2°C. Bhaderwah experienced 2.6°C, and Kishtwar recorded 5.1°C. Padder was the coldest location in Jammu at -4.5°C. Ramban, Poonch, and Rajouri saw minimums of 8.0°C, 4.7°C, and 3.5°C, respectively. Other areas such as Samba, Reasi, and Udhampur recorded temperatures of 5.8°C, 6.9°C, and 5.9°C, respectively.

Leh recorded a bone-chilling -8.6°C, while Kargil and Drass both registered -7.1°C.
