A minor boy died of a bullet wound in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said.

He said that the boy namely Akhil Chandan, who was a 6th class student, was hit by a bullet mysteriously.

“The boy was rushed to District Hospital Rajouri where doctors declared him brought dead,” he said, adding that police have registered a case and started probe.

Meanwhile, two Border Security Force (BSF) troopers were injured when Pakistan troops allegedly attacked Indian posts in Nowgam sector of Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday.

Official sources said that the Pakistan troopers’ targeted India’s Hera Left Post at Toot Maari Gali (TMG) at Nowgam sector at 11:30 am today.  They said that the Pakistan firing left two BSF men injured.

Sources identified the injured troopers as Sub-Inspector Jawaharlal Singh and Constable Rahul Yadav of 119 Battalion. They were immediately rushed to hospital for treatment, they said.

Sources said that the BSF also retaliated and the firing continued for about half-an-hour.
